ABB Related Description

The IMHSS03 is a valve position control device used in an ABB INFI 90 system to control the speed of turbines. IMHSS03 interfaces a servo valve or an I/H converter to a Multi-Function Processor. The multi-function processor (IMMFP12) controls the position of a steam or gas turbine's throttle valve by sending a position demand to the IMHSS03. The HSS device drives its outputs to open or close the throttle valve to match the position demand. The MFP uses the IMFCS01 to measure the turbine's speed. The FCS measures the turbine's speed by counting and timing pulses from a magnetic pickup on the turbine shaft. The MFP uses this count to calculate turbine speed and calculate a new demand based on a set point.
